Subject: Prefecture Motor Ordering Update
From: Tripoli Minnesota

Hello Tripoli Minnesota Members,

The end date for the next group purchase is May 28th, 2026! Please review the materials below as the online ordering process has changed recently since Chris has updated his web site to support club orders.

To reiterate when you place an order you will not pay any shipping fees. Upon completion of the order the Prefecture will pay the shipping fees including hazmat. Subsequently, you will be billed by the Prefecture for your prorated portion of the shipping fees. The benefit to each of you is that the shipping fees plus 3% to cover PayPal costs of the Prefecture will be prorated across all those ordering based on the amount each person purchases in the prefecture order. If the cost of your items amounts to 5% of the order your shipping cost would be about 5.15% of the total shipping charges. What this means is that the hazmat fees will be distributed across the entire order cost and so each individual will not need to pay the full hazmat fees for each order that they place.

Also, since these are online orders and the state does not collect sales taxes from online sellers unless their sales volume into the state exceeds $100,000 during the previous 12 months we do not expect to pay sales taxes on our orders in the foreseeable future.

The ordering process will work as follows:

  1. Go to Chris’ Rocket Supplies (www.csrocketry.com) and if you haven't registered for a login proceed and complete the registration process then login.
  2. Once logged in select the items you would like to order.
  3. Go to the cart and confirm your order items and make any updates if needed. Then scroll down to section 3 Fulfillment and select Pickup. Below pickup select Tripoli MN Group Order. Read and check off the acknowledgements.
  4. Scroll down to section 4 Review payment and completion to examine your invoice to make sure that Pickup with $0.00 shipping charges is included. If there are any shipping charges the pickup in step 3 was not entered correctly. Go back to step 3 and fix the entry.
  5. Now pay for your order. There should be no shipping charges paid at this time.
  6. When you receive your motor invoice email a copy to Carsten at treasurer@tripolimn.org so that the shipping costs can be prorated across all those that placed orders (see step 8 below).
  7. We will be setting an order end date that the orders must be completed by each time we go through this process. For this order the end date will be May 28th, 2026, inclusive. Note that if you’ve ordered one or more items that were out of stock they will be shipped with the next prefecture order that is shipped after the vendor receives the product from the manufacturer. This means that no out of stock items will hold up shipments.
  8. The items will be shipped to Terry Zien and those who have placed orders will be contacted by the Prefecture Treasurer (Carsten) within a couple days after the order end date with your shipping costs. Please pay these to the Treasurer once you receive the invoice.
  9. Once the shipment is received and unpacked Terry will contact all those with orders for them to pick up their items from his house. He will set a couple of multiple hour windows for pickups to occur. There will not be delivery of these items to the launch site. Make sure that you will be able to pick up these items at one of the two windows provided.
  10. Any shipment errors will need to be resolved with Chris’ Rocket Supplies.
  11. If you have questions regarding the purchasing process there is a detailed Group Purchase Process document posted on the Tripoli Minnesota website for your review. Alternatively, contact a Board member for clarification.
