2025 Tripoli MN Elections

Call for Nominations for Prefect, Vice Prefect, and Board Members

 

It is that time of year again.  We need to be thinking about: 

  1. the open positions on our prefecture board and
  2. who may be interested in running for Prefect / Vice Prefect positions.

 

This year there are three open board of director positions currently held by:

John LaCroix
Dave Snyder
Terry Zien

 

Their commitment will be ending on December 31st, 2025.  Thank you for your continued service to the prefecture!

 

The following board members will remain to see us through another great year of rocketry:

Mark Adkins
Carsten Franke
David Schwantz
Gary Stroick

 

The three newly elected seats will be for the 2026 & 2027 calendar years (2 year term).

Any Senior Member (Member of age 18 or older) of the Tripoli Minnesota High power Rocket Club may nominate any other senior member or themselves provided the nominee meets the minimum requirements outlined below. Nominations must be in writing (emails are acceptable).

 
Requirements for Board of Director Candidates:

  1. Nominee must be 18 years of age or older

  2. Nominee must be a member in good standing

  3. Nominee must be willing to serve a two (2) year term and attend board meetings

  4. Nominee must provide a brief resume / bio / introduction statement

The position of Prefect and Vice Prefect will also need to be filled.

Current Vice Prefect: Brian LaRose

Without a Prefect and Vice Prefect we can NOT hold launches!
  • These positions are separate from the board seats.
  • They can be filled by any member that meets the requirements below.
  • This is a separate title/position/responsibility that is critical to the launch operations of our prefecture.
  • The role has the final say in the Go / No Go weather call for each launch and is ultimately responsible for the launch safety.
  • They coordinate with the FAA in both securing and holding the launch waiver at each and every launch.
 

Requirements for Prefect and Vice Prefect Candidates:

  1. Nominee must be 21 years of age or older

  2. Nominee must be a Tripoli Minnesota member in good standing for a minimum of one year

  3. Nominee must not be Secretary of Tripoli MN

  4. Nominee must be certified Tripoli Level 2 or higher

  5. Nominee must be willing to serve a one (1) year term and attend launches

  6. Nominee must provide a brief resume / bio / introduction statement

 

To recap:  We are looking for members to fill three board positions or that are willing to serve as Prefect or Vice Prefect.
