Launch Announcement
  • North Branch, MN - Central Turf Farms Flying Field
  • Setup starts at 9:00 am
  • Flying starts at 10:00 am
  • Please stay for tear-down if you can ~5:00pm
  • Waiver to 20,000ft weather dependent
Final Call: The Launch is a GO!
The field may be a bit damp, but should be ok as long as you don't fall into one of the ditches!
 
Rumor has it that there will be an 8x High Power Rocket Drag Race tomorrow! 
Should be fun to watch.
 
As always, all flyers and spectators are welcome to attend.  We will have several new people at the field tomorrow.  I'm sure we can get them hooked into this hobby!  Adult fliers are required to have either a Tripoli or a NAR national membership.  Club membership can be obtained by visiting our website, or you can purchase a daily launch pass at the field.
Weather is going to be wet in the early AM hours...
Might be a good idea to bring an extra pair of footwear just in case the field is a bit more wet than expected.  Rain makes the roads soft!  These roads can quickly become impassable if the rain is excessive. 
(Just ask those that have gotten stuck and needed a tow)
 Please be courteous of the farm, its workers, and the generosity they extend to our club.  Drive slow to help keep the ruts to a minimum.  As always, back into your parking spots.  This helps keep the engine heat and any possibility of fluid drips close to the road.

Trackers: 

It makes it easier and less expensive in the end, if you can get everything back.  If your going to be flying out-of-sight, at crazy Mach speeds, or deploying a main at apogee...  PLEASE use some kind of radio recovery.  The crops are getting taller, and it makes it impossible to see a rocket from the ground.  Please do everything possible to make sure you find your rocket BEFORE the farmers do!  The club has bacons that can be rented if needed.

Brats
On-Field Provisions:
 
Off We Go Rocketry - Gary will be attending the launch with a large assortment of rocket motors and rocketry related supplies.
 
Food Vendor - Brian's Brats will be ready to serve lunch!  Remember to bring CASH.
 
Rest Room - We will have a handicap accessible porta potty at the field.
 
Trash - There are usually two trash cans located near the LCO table.  Please use them.
