Tripoli Minnesota September 11th 2010 : Commercial Club Launch Day
Submitted by zfamily on Sun, 08/15/2010 - 22:41.Tripoli Minnesota Club Launch, held the Second Saturday of the month at our field North East of North Branch MN. Setup starts at around 8:00 AM and first flights at 9:00 AM. We fly until everyone is exhausted, usually about 4:00 PM.
Tripoli Minnesota High Power Rocketry Club
We launch many rockets of all sizes from small models to the obscenely large. Some are 20 feet or more tall. Rocketry is truly a family activity for all ages. Kids (and those young at heart) are welcome to come launch on our 12 low powered launch pads, while the adults get to play with the really big and beautiful high powered birds on our 6 high power pads.
Even if you just come to watch, rocketry can be fun and even a little educational. Youth groups are welcome, but a little advanced notice is always appreciated.
Bring your sunscreen and lots to drink (no alcohol please). Come early as parking will be at a premium. There is no charge for spectators or those under 18 launching low powered rockets. You must be a Tripoli Rocket Association (TRA), a Tripoli MN club member and over 18 to launch high power.
We usually have one or more rocket equipment vendors (www.offwegorocketry.com - www.rocket-technologies.com ) and sanitary facilities available at each launch.
We also have Brian's Brats, chicken, hot dogs, chips and pop for a nominal (and quite reasonable) charge.

Typical Launch Day
Come one, come all... all spectators are welcome to watch at all Club Launch says, just remember that rocketry can be dangerous. Please pay attention to the Launch Personnel announcements and keep children well in hand. Launch days start around 8:00AM with setup, first flights at 9:00AM and typically continue until 4:00PM. We usually have one or more rocket equipment vendors (www.offwegorocketry.com - www.rocket-technologies.com ) and sanitary facilities on-site. We also have Brian’s Brats, selling Brats, Hot Dogs, chips, water, and pop. Just don’t forget the sunscreen.
Commercial Club Launches (using Commercially purchased rocket motors) are scheduled for the second Saturday of the month, May through October. We launch many rockets of all shapes and sizes. Kids of “all” ages are welcome to come launch on our 12 Low powered (A-E) launch pads (there is no charge for kids under the age of 18, a small maintenance fee for you bigger kids). Mid (F-G) and High power (H+) launching requires a membership in the national Tripoli or NAR organization and our Tripoli MN Club (or day pass).
Research Club Launches (using Commercially purchased or custom built Research rocket motors) are scheduled for other days of the month. These Research Launch days are communicated via the club website, mailing lists, facebook, etc… Note: Only Tripoli MN / Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA) members over the age of 18 are allowed to launch rockets on these days. However, if you are over 18 and join Tripoli MN / Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA) on site, you can fly anything you want within the Tripoli Research Rules.

Attention all participants and spectators, due to the recent rain I must ask and even insist that if you plan to attend today's launch please stay on the road and designated parking area. If it looks too muddy walk in please be courteous to Harley’s land. I hope that things can go on as planned but in case you have any doubts I can be reached at 763-458-3089. Thanks and remember, it is going to be a beautiful day.

We are expecting at least one Level 3 launch on Saturday the 19th (i.e. large rocket with large motor), so do not miss out on the fun!

New Launch Site for 2010
Submitted by tripoli on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 21:34.We have moved. Well at least a little ways down the road. This new site is farther away from the power lines, and a little less corn.
Driving Directions
Exit 147 off of I-35; North Branch, MN
Go East .6 miles to County Road 30 (Forest Blvd) and turn left
Go North 1.2 miles to 400th street and turn right (turns into a dirt road)
Go East 2 miles to Iris Ave and turn left (dirt road continues)
Take first left, at 402nd Street and follow the dirt road out into middle of the sod field
When you visit... Please stay on the road and make sure you do NOT drive on the Sod Farm's grass. Thank you.

All systems are a GO for launching tomorrow, Saturday July 10th!
This will be yet another record setting weekend for Tripoli MN. I now have as many as 6 Level 3 attempts going tomorrow. Good luck to you all.
BTW we will have more Club tee-shirts for sale this month at Brian's Brats. Go see Brian to get something to eat and while your there treat yourself to a new shirt.
